Natural material type hats such as straw, paper weave, bau and raffia have tropic leaves as its materials, thus dry cleaning is not possible. If the hat is polluted, take a slightly wet gauze and clean before drying it in a shaded place.
2. If it is exposed to the sunlight, it becomes dry and bleached leading to crumbling. Thus it is not recommended to place it for a long time at the back of the car or near the windows. Also, natural material hat should not be folded during storage!
3. In case of a natural fedora, if you use it holding the crown’s front, the hat can be damaged since only the part that has contacted the hand can split and crumble. When wearing, you can wear it long by holding both sides of the brim.
4. If it gets caught in the rain or is dropped in water, roll newspaper inside the hat and refine to normal form then dry in a shaded area. If the hat has been dropped in sea water, get rid of the saltiness with clean water and gently get rid of the wetness with a towel. Dry with the above method.
5. Natural Material Hats have expendable properties. Do not forget that you can use it longer and more smartly if it is given a little bit more care!
